Application Tips
Apply the tape one hour before exercise or showering - this will ensure the adhesive has a good bond. Before use, skin should be free of oil, sweat, dirt, lotion or water. Trim or shave any excess hair to aid adhesion. After application, the tape should be rubbed to activate the heat-sensitive adhesive. Do not use a hair dryer to activate the applied area. Stretch the muscle, not the tape, when applying. Over-stretching the tape can cause irritation. To remove the tape, push one end of the tape upwards, pressing it against your skin to separate it from the tape. Unroll the tape from the edge in the direction of hair growth. Wetting the tape or using baby oil may also help with removal. It is helpful to roll the tape by cutting the corners. This will prevent the tape from snagging on clothing.
Note: All original Kinesio Tapes have their own special backing paper that always says KINESIO.
